MASKARA THEATER GUILD Advocates on Health Education
Being a partner in youth and community development, MASKARA THEATER GUILD, INC. (MTGI) has collaborated with Guro para sa ng Sining ng Bayan (GUSI) and the Department of Health with its community performances of “Ikaw at Ako ay Tayo” on May-June 2012 at the Davao del Sur areas such as Inawayan, Sta. Cruz, Poblacion, Don Marcelino, F. Village, Malita, Poblacion, Malita, Basiawan, Sta. Maria, Barayong, Magsaysay, Poblacion, Malalag Zone 2, Kanapulo, Magsaysay and Digos City.
With Maskara’s mission which is to create extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge and inspire its audiences, "IKAW AT AKO AY TAYO" production aims to engage local communities in a livelier discussion on family health, and serve as a catalyst for behavior change. The play will be introduced during routine community assemblies upon consultation and in close collaboration with local counterparts. Immediately following the play, spectators will be invited to attend thematic health classes conducted by front-line health care workers with the help of educational tools and referrals for services.
